Well spring has finally arrived and Leaf fans, you know what that means. The blue and white will soon be golfing at a course near you. I have 2 thoughts regarding this. First, as a life long Flames fan, I welcome you Leaf fans aboard the Flames bandwagon. I remember what it was like to have a team that never made the playoffs and it bites, so join me on the red mile. It beats cheering for the Habs or Sens. Second of all, I may be a die-hard Flames fan but due to my proximity to the 416, you can't help but follow the Maple Laughs and their sordid tales. So here is what I would like to see happen to the once storied Toronto Maple Leafs.

First of all, lets start at the top. I would love to see Richard Peddie and the Teacher's Union take a long walk off a short dock. Seriously, this is one of the richest, most storied franchises in sports, let alone hockey, so how have they not made the playoffs in 3 years??? Honestly, Roop and I can barely tie our shoes and we could put this team into the playoffs.

 I would also love to see Mats return to the team. The guy is gold. I would also love to see him and his mom film some more Chunky Soup commercials. "Eat yo' Chunky Soup Mats!" Priceless.

I would love to see the reincarnation of Wendel Clark, healthy back included. Just to see him drop Marty McSorley and roof a wrister in the top corner one more time is worth the price of admission right there.

I would love to know what happened to Allan Bester and Ken Wregget. Seriously, greatest goalie tandem ever!

I would love to see the first 20 rows of seats go to real fans instead of the corporate suits who leave after the second period and thought the glowing puck was a good idea. No offence Mr. Suit and Tie but let the fat, shirtless guy with the beer can hat and his man boobs painted blue sit in the front row. Thats the guy that deserves it.

 I would love to see Andrew Raycroft get a second chance somewhere. He's got the Jose Theodore shot confidence syndrome thing going on right now, but no matter the amount of heat he has taken, some deserved, some not,  he has never complained and seems like one of the nice guys in the business.

I would love to see the Leafs get some cheerleaders. Call me selfish but how can some hot girls in bikini's not help the team?

 I would love to see Don Cherry come out with his own line of suits. They may have the same pattern as my granny's couch, circa 1972, but I would start wearing a suit to work.

 I would love to see a free beer night at the A.C.C. Again, call me selfish.

So I guess what I'm saying Leaf fans is the Leafs suck. But they won't always suck. Every team goes through the wringer. Again, I am a Flames fan. you want lows? remember when we gave you Doug Gilmour and you gave us Gary Leeman? Not cool. But you will parade down Yonge St. again. We just maybe driving hover cars by then.
