Spider Pandemonium

Hello all,
I was APPALLED to find out on the weekend, while I was at The Ont. Fed. of Hunters and Anglers' Women's Weekend, that this area is native for the Northern Black Widow spider. What? WHAT? I now have a new item for my ongoing list of things I am terrified of encountering in their natural environment.
1. Muskies
2. snapping turtles (in the water)
3. Catfish
4. Bears
5. Black Widow Spiders
Roop and Wix tried to convince me this is mere folklore, but NO I assured them....I was told this by a QUALIFIED MEMBER of PARKS CANADA. They "pshawed" my information. Loyal listener Shannon McIntyre has come to my aid with photographic evidence.
Thank you Shannon. Note the red dot on the abdomen.....telling evidence of The Black Widow. This fine specimen is nursing her egg sac. Wikipedia tells me that it will unleash 100-400 spider babies upon us, although only about 30 will survive due to cannibalism. That is some lovely stuff people. Lovely.

I was at the "wow", also...I was not too keen on the spider...and even less thrilled with pine apple. and fluffy!!!!. My sister, niece, and I, were way up in the parking lot, when they brought those guys out!!!! But..I was pretty excited to win the gardening prize!!!
