Give The Stick Some Credit

So the new member of the Toy Hall of Fame is "The Stick". It sits right next to "The Box".
A lot of people were really ticked off about this, saying that is was a cop-out, or a weak entry. That perhaps all the other toy makers should be furious that nothing they made could beat a simple stick.
I'm gonna go ahead and be the devils advocate here and side with the stick's choosers. Sure, sure... its not technically a manufactured toy, and rather a piece of nature that can be found all over the place. It was never cleverly marketed to kids with a catchy theme song and a hefty price tag, but perhaps that's the beauty of it all.
The Stick didn't need these things, and STILL every kid, boys or girls, young or old, has played with a stick. Given just the right amount of imagination if can be a magic wand (very useful when you're a fairy doing magic!), it can be a sword for when you're fighting dragons deep in the forests, and let's not forget what a great spoon it makes when stirring up a bowl full of strange foresty goodness that you will eventually co-erce your parents into sampling.
You name one kid that hasn't enjoyed playing with this piece of nature. You'd be hard pressed to find one.
Congratulations to The Stick.
