No More Big Garbage Day?!?!?!

I think this is an outrage, for SEVERAL reasons.
1)People will continue to put out large pieces of garbage with their weekly pick up instead, crossing their fingers that they will wake up to an empty curb. They will not. Then the crap will sit on the curb for weeks on end, making our beautiful area look all dodgy.
2)With big garbage days, we were ensuring the motto "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle". One mans junk became another's treasure and we reduced the amount of stuff going to the dump.
3) How will I ever furnish my next apartment?
4) There was a certain thrill in driving around town the night before a big garbage pick up and seeing what people were doing away with. "Oh look, Johnny must have finally replaced that old fridge!" or "Oh wow... where did Suzy get the money for a new couch!" Admit it. We all do it.
On the positive side, perhaps now, instead, 2009 will bring us double the amount of garage sales. Keep your fingers crossed with me!
Cheers,
Mere

I am glad I moved to NB.
We do not have to buy tags, and our guys will pick up the big stuff if you do not over do it.
Also we recycle but do not have garbage cops.
I hope this move does not end up making my home town look like a dump.
